Dovilė Bukauskaitė

Dovilė Bukauskaitė is an architect and the creative lead of Synonym Architects, with nearly 20 years of professional experience. Her interest in art began at an early age and developed through the art programme at Kaunas Aušra Gymnasium. She later studied interior design and architecture at the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, completing both bachelor’s and master’s studies.

During her studies, Dovilė gained professional experience at Kanča's studio, Ž. Radvilavičiaus bureau and Giedraitis & architects studio. She also participated in and received recognition in several architectural competitions, including SIKON and the competition for Kaunas Freedom Avenue. Her master’s project was recognised as the best student master’s project in architecture in Lithuania.

Dovilė continued her professional career at G. Natkevičius & Partners bureau and Simper Ltd., alongside developing her independent architectural practice. Today, she leads the creative direction of SYNONYM Architects and guides projects from their initial concept through design development to completion.

Her work draws inspiration from architecture, art, nature, culture and fashion. She approaches each project as a coherent creative process, balancing a clear architectural idea with functionality, context and attention to detail.
