The elegance and urban rhythm of Laisvės Avenue shape the interior design of this apartment in Kaunas, Lithuania. The project interprets the character of the city’s iconic boulevard through a contemporary modernist language rather than reproducing historical details. Recurring geometric motifs establish connections between different elements of the interior. Bespoke details carry these references through the rooms, creating a consistent composition in which proportion and rhythm take precedence over ornament. A custom-designed parquet pattern becomes a defining architectural element. Its geometry brings the concept into the floor plane, giving the apartment an individual identity and reinforcing the relationship between the interior and its urban inspiration. Classical references are distilled into lines, patterns and carefully resolved details. The result is a contemporary home that draws its character from its location, translating the avenue’s sophistication into an intimate residential setting.
