The language of haute couture finds an architectural expression at MADA, a cocktail bar in Kaunas, Lithuania, occupying a building once home to one of the city’s renowned fashion ateliers. Rather than recreating the atelier, the interior draws on its legacy through sculptural forms, rhythmic arches and draped elements. References to fashion become part of the spatial composition, giving the bar a distinctive identity rooted in the history of the place. Bespoke features, carefully selected materials and refined detailing bring these elements together. Dramatic lighting accentuates their forms and textures, creating an atmosphere that balances the intimacy of a cocktail bar with the theatricality of a fashion setting. The result is a contemporary hospitality interior in which the building’s past informs a new experience—expressive, immersive and designed around the encounter between people, space and evening light.
