MAESTRO is an award-winning beauty salon interior in Kaunas, Lithuania, conceived as a restrained backdrop that places the individual, rather than the interior itself, at the centre of attention. The workstations are arranged around a central core, allowing movement and views to flow around them rather than dividing the salon into sharply enclosed zones. Extended sightlines reveal the activity throughout the space, giving clients a broader perspective and a sense of connection with their surroundings. Along the perimeter, continuous curtains soften the room’s geometry and blur its outer boundaries. This enveloping textile layer contrasts with the precise central composition, creating a space that feels fluid rather than rigidly defined. A muted, dark palette unifies the interior, while illuminated mirrors bring focus to each workstation. Bespoke furniture and integrated functional elements reduce visual noise, allowing the salon’s everyday activity—and the people within it—to give the space its character.
