Peninsula House is a contemporary minimalist lakeside residence in Elektrėnai, Lithuania, designed to maximise views of the water while responding to the sloping terrain of the peninsula. Rather than levelling the site, the architecture uses its natural changes in elevation to organise the house as a split-level composition. Interconnected volumes settle at different heights, creating a gradual spatial sequence and allowing the building to follow the landscape. Towards the lake, expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the living spaces to panoramic views, while deep horizontal roof planes frame the surrounding scenery. On the approach side, clean solid volumes create privacy and reinforce the house’s calm, minimalist character. The contrast between enclosure and openness allows the residence to feel both precisely composed and closely connected to its setting.
