Independent living and a sense of community shape Woodland Senior Living, a residence in the United Kingdom composed of private apartments and shared spaces within an existing forest. The form of the building is shaped by the natural geometry of the site and the surrounding woodland. Rather than imposing a fixed volume, the architecture follows the landscape, allowing the existing trees to define its orientation and articulated footprint. Apartments are arranged along every side of the building so that each residence maintains a direct visual connection with the forest. Generous planted terraces, climbing vegetation and a green roof extend the woodland character across the façade and through every level of the building. Shared lobbies, a restaurant, meeting areas and event spaces support social interaction, while the private apartments provide calm and independence. Together, architecture and landscape create a senior living environment centred on nature, wellbeing and community.

A woodland home for independent living, shaped around mature trees, privacy and community.
